Organization Comes to the Center


My new server rack - it's much heavier than it looks. Right David & Scott? (153kb) Major pita to mount the rails - most of which were never designed to fit this rack. Even the Compaq rails seem off, somehow. Regardless, it is a step toward organizing the room. Plus, I think it's kinda cool. (794kb) Now I just need to convince someone to let me take over the little pc on the side. I also want to replace the Compaq 5000 with something a bit more quiet. You can hear the thing from downstairs and it is very wearing when in the same room with it. sigh. Guess he was right about this one. The replacement box is Compaq 1600 (2 way xeon with 1gb ram - no rackmount hw - no hdds which are way expensive - no hdd controller = not such a fantastic deal) (31kb)
